Once again Floyd "Money" Mayweather has defeated another one of boxing's' to prospects as he increased his undefeated record to 45-0. Last weekend, Floyd entered in the ring to face Mexico's boxing champion Canelo Alvarez who also had an undefeated record with 41 wins and no defeats. The fight was estimated to be worth about 41 million dollars which was the most in boxing history. Everyone was excited about this fight because of Canelo's outstanding performance against Austin Trout who was the reigning champion. After beating Austin Trout he immediately became next in line to face Floyd Mayweather. Canelo was hands down the favorite to win the fight for many reasons. Many people does not like Floyd because they think he is cocky, arrogant, disrespectful and too flashy for his own good so they would enjoy watching him lose. He is seen on the internet and on television showing off his cars, house, and money to the viewers. If someone works hard for what they have then you have to respect it. He also talks bad about his opponents and shows no respect for them. I think what he does is his business and if he backs up the talk then you really can't say anything. What he does is just apart of his scheme to make more money in my opinion. By hyping up the fight and providing entertainment, more people would pay to watch the fight therefore he would make more money. Another reason everyone thought Floyd was going to lose is because of his age. People thought he may have lost a few steps because he's starting to age but once again he proved everyone wrong. He clearly won every round but at the end of the fight one judge scored the fight as a draw. That just shows how much people really hate and him and how bad they want to see him lose. Some people criticized Mayweather for requesting Canelo to fight at a catched weight; 152 lbs. By having to lose around 6 pounds to make weight, analyst say it may have had an affect on his performance. In all reality no one can compete with Floyd in the ring. Most of his success comes form his confidence and work ethic. He is just on another level than his competitors an has been for a while now. That just shows that hard work really does pay off. He will definitely go down as one of the greatest of all time.
